What’s new for 2023 Dodge SUVs

Whether you are looking for a family vehicle or a compact vehicle, 2023 Dodge SUVs will cater to your needs. The Durango will be back for 2023, while the all-new Dodge Hornet will be available for the very first time.

At Rive-Sud Chrysler, we will give you all the information you need about these two vehicles, including about the powertrains, the interior, the available technologies and even the price.

Durango and Hornet: Powertrains

The all-new Dodge SUVs come with lots of variety in terms of available powertrains.

For the 2023 Dodge Hornet, all of the fuel models offer the same engine: a 2.0 L 4- cylinder.

This engine is capable of producing 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. maximum torque. Thanks to this powertrain, it is the fastest compact sports utility vehicle available on the market. As for the hybrid model, we will come back to the performance it offers.

Depending on selected trim, the 2023 Dodge Durango SUV is available with:

  • A 3.6 L 6- cylinder engine with 293 horsepower
  • A 5.7 L 8- cylinder engine with 360 horsepower
  • And finally a 6.4 L 8- cylinder with 475 horsepower

Moreover, the SRT Hellcat trim comes with a 6.2 L supercharged V8 engine that stands in a class of its own, given its 710 horsepower and 640 lb-ft. maximum torque.

The Performance offered by the Hornet hybrid

The first new SUV model to be offered by the American automobile manufacturer for almost a decade, the Hornet also has an electric trim, the Hornet R/T.

Its 1.3 L turbocharged engine is coupled with a 90 kW electric motor and a 15 kWh battery. With this powertrain, the R/T will provide you with 285 horsepower and 383 lb-ft. maximum torque.

Moreover, the Hornet R/T can drive for up to 50 km when in full electric mode.

Design and colors for the all-new 2023 Dodge SUVs

While the Dodge Hornet borrows the appearance of the Alfa Romeo Tonale –with whom it also shares several elements-, the Dodge Durango has maintained its iconic style, while also modernizing it a little.

For those who love color, the Dodge Hornet is available in a rainbow of color options, including yellow, blue and red, along with more classic colors like white or black.

As for the Durango, it is only available in variations of black, white and red. Some trims are also offered in green.

Technologies that make driving easier

With their digital dashboard and other smart accessories, Dodge SUVs make your daily life easy.

With its 12.3- inch touch screen, the Hornet has a standard offered digital dashboard that is the biggest of all Dodge vehicles. It will give you access to all the information you need and ensures that you receive it.

Moreover, Dodge gives you access to performance pages on the central screen for both SUVs, in order to provide you with yet even more information. These pages will allow you to view a variety of information, in real time, like:

  • Engine power;
  • Torque;
  • Oil pressure;
  • Gear info, etc.

No matter what you want to know, Dodge technologies are there to ensure that you have the best and clearest possible driving experience.

Comfortable Interiors

Whether you are looking for a vehicle that can welcome your whole family, or a more compact option, Dodge SUVs will definitely cater to your needs.

Depending on selected trim, the interior of the Durango can welcome up to 6- or 7- passengers in complete comfort. With the two first rows of seats that are heated and the Harman Kardon sound system, as optional equipment, everyone will be happy.

Even though smaller, the Hornet will provide you with just as much comfort by offering leather upholstered seats, which is just an example from the vast selection of available accessories.

SUVs that are extremely connected

Stellantis has recently introduced the Uconnect 5 for all of its newest vehicles, including Dodge SUVs.

5 times faster than its predecessor, the Uconnect 5 system is even more impressive since it allows you to stay connected, even when you are not inside your vehicle. This is the cream of the crop when it comes to accessible and customizable systems.

Price per model and trim

For the Hornet fuel models –available in the GT and GT Plus trims-, base prices in Canada are $ 40,190 and $ 46,665 respectively.

As for the Hornet hybrid prices, we will make sure you find out the minute they become available, which will be closer to the vehicle release date.
