Identical design to the Gladiator
Offering the same rugged design as gas-powered models, the 2021 Gladiator EcoDiesel is a tough nut to crack! You'll notice the round headlamps borrowed from other models in the lineup, such as the Wrangler; it also borrows its removable doors and roof from the afore-mentioned Jeep 4x4 SUV-making it the only open-air pickup truck in the industry-as well as its fold-down windshield.
Under the hood, the 2021 Gladiator EcoDiesel houses a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft, mated to a new 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. For comparison, direct competitors Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon have a 4-cylinder diesel engine with 186 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The fuel consumption and towing capacity of the Gladiator EcoDiesel are not yet known, but Jeep stated that it will do very well in front of the competition! Finally, you'll benefit from a quieter engine that generates less vibrations and better controls emissions. And no matter which version of the Gladiator you choose, it will be possible to equip it with this new EcoDiesel engine!
Several versions of the diesel truck
Depending on the version you choose, your 2021 Gladiator EcoDiesel will feature heated seats, air conditioning, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility and several safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, the forward-facing TrailCam off-road camera-exclusive to the Rubicon version-and Blind-Spot Monitoring, among others.
