The 2026 Jeep Recon electric will hit the market in early 2026. It already has our full attention, given that it promises an exhilarating driving experience while also preserving the DNA of Jeep vehicles.
While the Jeep Wrangler hybrid is partially electric, it will be joined by an entirely new fully electric alternative.
The Jeep Recon was hinted at in 2024, then in 2025; the latest details are finally becoming clearer.
Although we don't yet have official information regarding the available trims for the electric Jeep Recon, rumours are that a Moab trim that could be Trail Rated certified and offers off-road packages should be available.
This means that the 2026 Jeep Recon would come equipped with all-terrain wheels, removable doors ‒as seen on some of the best Jeep SUVs‒, as well as heavy-duty bumpers fitted with tow hooks.
The Jeep Recon, with a starting price yet to be announced, will clearly also offer additional trims that are sure to stand out. As for the official price, early details indicate it should cost around $85,000. This price will be confirmed closer to the Jeep EV’s launch date.
Details regarding the Jeep Recon BEV powertrain have not been clearly disclosed yet.
It is expected, however, to be equipped with two electric motors, similar to the Jeep Wagoneer S which develops 600 horsepower and comes with all-wheel drive.
Details concerning the 2025 Jeep Recon hinted at the possibility of utilizing a powerful 100.5 kWh battery, which is also featured in the Jeep Wagoneer S.
With such a powerful battery, one can expect a range of 500 km or more. We do not have details on charging times just yet.
Although these details are not yet available, the midsize Jeep Recon will come in dimensions that are similar to those of the Jeep Wrangler or the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The manufacturer indicates that the Jeep Recon will feature a refined interior, with ample storage space and advanced technologies.
It is reasonable to expect that the new Jeep Recon will be equipped with various on-board technologies, such as a large driver cluster digital display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, an advanced navigation system, and much more.

According to Jeep’s electric plan –which focuses, among other things, on four all-new fully electric models to the American manufacturer’s catalog between now and 2025- we can already admire the superb 2024 Jeep Recon utility. Although similar to the Wrangler, the Recon has a more imposing and massive silhouette and extreme off-road capabilities.
The Jeep Recon should be commercialized starting in 2024, with a possibility of pre-ordering your own copy later on in the year. The Recon will have removable doors and roof, and the rare images show the famous seven-slot grille with lighted contour –the contour on the headlights should be lighted as well-, placed atop a massive bumper on which you will find two blue towing hooks, a feature that is also repeated at the back.
The hood has a flat indentation and the lower body, the upper part and bumpers are black. You will also find the spare wheel at the back, framed by square taillights that remind us of the Jeep Renegade, and black door handles that are flush with the doors.
Although we do not have any official information, some websites claim that the electric range for the 2024 Jeep Recon could surpass 800 kilometers.
Equipped with BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, the Recon could offer several driving modes, thanks to the Selec-Terrain system, found on all Jeep models. It should also be equipped with a power locking differential, without forgetting the e-locker axle technology.
The Stellantis Group confirms that the Recon will be built on the STLA Large platform, which means that electric range should in fact reach up to 800 kilometers. What is the STLA Large platform? It is one of the four platforms to be exclusively utilized for the manufacturer’s electric vehicles:
