The standard” version of the 6.7L Cummins: capabilities that are by no means standard!

Cummins recently revisited its 6.7L engine for RAM, in order to increase its smoothness of operation. New cylinder units, pistons and camshafts: the in-line six is lighter and yet more efficient. And that's directly reflected in the figures. Indeed, in its standard definition, where it is paired with an also revised six-speed automatic transmission, it offers a comfortable 370 horsepower (2500) or 385 hp (3500) for a torque of 850 lb-ft. This engine allows, for example, for the 2500 to haul up to 8,927 kg, that's saying a lot! This engine can also be paired with a transmission providing the RAM HD with a four-wheel drive, which is perfect if you have to go to construction sites this winter on the South Shore of Montreal, between St-Hubert and Brossard.

But it's with the 6.7-litre Cummins Turbo Diesel High Output engine, specific to the 3500 variant, that the 2020 RAM Heavy Duty clearly changes category in terms of capacities. The latter offers no less than 400 horsepower for— and this is the most impressive— a tremendous 1,000 lb-ft of torque. In this configuration, the 2020 RAM 3500 HD rear-wheel drive can tow, with its regular cab and dual rear wheels, up to 15,921 kg if equipped with the maximum towing package. Thus, the only limit in terms of towing capacity will be the one you will set yourself on the roads of Montreal's South Shore between Brossard and St-Hubert! This truck is also available with a reinforced 4x4 transfer case, so you can count on its colossal capabilities in all conditions.
